Gorgeous gardens

For the past few years we have been visiting the beautiful gardens at Thornton Hall 2 miles out of Darlington.  In 1995 restoration work began by Michael and Sue Manners to return these old walled paddocks to their former glory as gardens.  Each year they get better and better, this lovely sculpture is a new addition this year - although the photo does not show the wonderfully colourful herbaceous borders I love the tranquility of this scene.
