Spectacular End to the Day
We weren't sure if we were going to make it over to the beach for the 4th of July celebrations; I took my granddaughter to a doctor's appointment at 9:20 this morning and hubby went to the doctor because his ribs are still hurting from his fall 2 weeks ago. They took an x-ray and said it looked ok, but he has to sleep in a recliner every night because he hurts so bad. Anyway, we finally got going late afternoon and made it here about 6:30PM. Near sunset time we drove to the beach front house of our son's in-laws; that is where I took this photo. The sky was lit up almost all around us and it kept changing. It is nice to have a place right on the beach to enjoy the beauty of the ever changing sky. Our house is 6 blocks from the beach but it is an easy walk. When we walk down for the sunset we only stay to see part of it and usually walk back home shortly after the sun goes down because it gets chilly. At our son's in-laws they light a fire and sit around to see the beautiful afterglow.
I need to get to bed since we always have everyone over to our house for breakfast on the 4th because the parade lines up in front of our house and it is convenient for them to get here early to park in our driveway. It is a big celebration for America's Independence Day here in this little town.
