reconnaissance and planning

...we just had time for a stroll in the forest on Wytch Heath, this morning, before my brother and sister-in-law arrived for the weekend. It was as much a reconnaissance mission for tomorrow's walk as it was a blip opportunity.

There were plenty of blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits and coal tits, like this one, along the grassy drive that separates the forest from the pastures of Scotland Farm but not much else.

The walk tomorrow morning will be much longer and will skirt the edge of Poole Harbour. We hope to find something of interest along the route...
