The weekend is finally here...
Today was a really nice day, well after school was.
Every wednesday the Omani Orphanage visits us at ABA school, and it's the highlight of their week. Orphans ranging from ages 6-15 came to us, and I offered to help out with a small english and math class. It was quite sad though, seeing all these young kids who have no mum or dad. There was one rather sweet girl called Hanan who was cheeky and everytime someone said something she would immitate them with the funniest facial expressions to add on. I also noticed a 10 or 11 year old girl, sat by herself at the end of the table, she who I felt really bad for; she kept on trying to colour in things, and then in Arabic would tell the 'Mami'- "I can't do this, I can't do this." I think maybe she had a few disabilities, and she never talked to anyone except the teacher. These orphans probably spend the whole week inside the Orphanage, no where else. So coming to our school for the afternoon really is what they look forward too-and helping them out makes you feel even better. They become so attached to you, too. I'd love to do it again!
