Mystery Macro

I didn't even leave the house for this picture. A flashlight and an Agfa loupe were involved.

Our neighbor told me this morning that she's pretty sure she saw a bear walking down the street in front of their house behind us. I told her about the article in the paper this morning about a bear in Altadena (the place where I grew up  in Southern California). A man was just sitting down outside to enjoy a Margarita when he heard a lot of rustling and twig snapping and spotted a bear climbing over his back fence. He repaired to the house, leaving his drink on the table and the bear knocked over the glass, lapped  up the drink and then climbed into his hot tub! After the bear climbed a tree and had a little nap it moseyed off and the man made himself two margaritas!

We've seen deer, turkeys, foxes, skunks, possums, coyotes, bobcats and every kind of rodent (not to mention a parakeet) around here but I have yet to spot a bear. Apparently the combination of drought and fire is driving them out of their normal habitat. 

I hope the deer fence keeps out bears (and that bears don't like wine because it is almost time for a glass (or two).
