LAVENDER'S BLUE

Hi everyone. It has been a bit cooler today,  Our cat Jezzie is happy again lounging on the sofa in the lounge, and Barry is relieved that the temperature has dropped a bit too.
Anyway, when I was out in the garden earlier, I spotted this bee on my Lavender. The famous song came to mind. "Lavender's Blue"

Lavender's blue,
Dilly diilly*,
Lavender's green,
When I am king,
Dilly dilly,
You shall be queen.

Call up your men,
Dilly dilly,
Set them to work,
Some to the plow,
Dilly dilly,
Some to the cart.

Some to make hay,
Dilly dilly,
Some to cut corn,
While you and I,
Dilly dilly,
Keep ourselves warm.

Lavender's green,
Dilly dilly,
Lavender's blue,
If you love me,
Dilly dilly,
I will love you.
*Some people sing "diddle, diddle" instead of "dilly, dilly"

Just out of interest:  Lavender's Blue" (sometimes called "Lavender Blue") is an English folk song and nursery rhyme dating to the 17th century. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 3483. It has been recorded in various forms since the 20th century and some pop versions have been hits in the US and UK charts.

Thank you for following me. Take care.
Love Theresa x
