Patient Vigil

(Had to wait until the excruciating pain of an England penalty shootout had finished - before posting).

The flapping and cooing has been ever present over the last few days just outside our house.  This pigeon and her partner have set up home in the nearest apple tree.  She's well hidden but standing on tiptoes and using the long focus lens allowed this view.  The male has a flightpath for bringing in new twigs to bolster the nest.  He invariably lands half way down the house roof, waddles his way down to the eaves and launches himself off the gutter, arcing his way through this gap in the leaves to the nest.
