It's a Portuguese Cavaquinho - you can tell it's Portuguese by the tuners which are borrowed from the Portuguese Guitarra.

I had to re-glue the bridge which had come unstuck due to wrong choice of strings - also closed some wicked splits on the back & did some other necessary jobs - shall be intrigued to hear how it sounds when I string it up tomorrow.

Yes & I watched England v. Colombia - at last they've managed to get over their "penalty shoot out jinx" which has been on-going since 1996!
