Will had an interesting parcel in the post today.

It was interesting to him because it was a book that he had sent for entitled 'Lost in the Wilds of Greece'.  It was written by a good friend, Penny Turner, and is a quite incredible, true story of her travels in Greece with her beloved horse George.  What caught my eye though, were the stamps on the brown padded envelope that the book came in.

They were obviously not your ordinary run-of-the-mill currently-issued stamps.  For a start they were for the values of 12p, 81p and £1.33 which presumably covered the amount of postage required to post a package of that size and weight.  I did a bit of research and found that the Patience Camp one was issued in 2016 as part of a set commemorating the Shackleton Endurance  Polar Expedition.  The St Magnus Cathedral one was issued in 2008 - and unbelievably, the Sir Henry Wood one was issued in 1980!  So quite a mixed bag - and I'm thinking that the publishing company that sent the book (Eco-logic Books) must have a huge stock of old stamps that they are still using.

The good thing is that somehow the stamps have not been franked - so presumably they could be used again.  I've done a bit of research on how much you could sell them for on ebay to a stamp collector - and it's a lot more than their face value.
