The Sky Celebrates

It's the cup that keeps giving. I don't ever remember getting so involved in a World Cup competition. Every match has delivered. It's had it all. Regardless of how England fare, this will go down as the best World Cup ever. I would never have expected to get so emotionally engaged watching Japan play Belgium. The second half was riveting from the very beginning to the heartbreaking final second. Football is even getting close to cricket in my affection at the moment!

As this World Cup will go down in memory, so will the accompanying weather here in England. This summer brings back memories of 1976. Is that an omen for the football and memories of 1966?

Today we saw proper clouds for the first time in days. They were particularly pretty ones. It felt like the sky was celebrating.
