Life in Manhattan

My daughter Ally and her family are moving from Manhattan, NYC to Manhattan Beach, CA.  We met her and her husband there to see the lovely house they rented and had a great dinner in a seaside restaurant.  There were so many best parts, but one was walking together early in the morning on the empty beach, sharing stories about our family and listening to the elemental sound of the outer ocean rolling in wave by wave.   

Our family was all together in California at one time.  Then, Ally moved to NYC.  Collin took a 4-year fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Jess moved to San Francisco.  And my wife and I moved to Michigan.   Now, each of our children has a family of their own and we are all back in California.  Like these waves, life replenishes itself.
