It Was a Good Morning

My plan of walking around Red Springs at Calico Basin didn't go as planned this morning. The boardwalk is in need of repairs and they have had it closed for over a year now.

I found an area that was accessible to a meadow/marsh and was pleased to be able to get some bee shots in the thistles. This one was one of my favorites. 

As I was trying to get some pictures of swallows flying, I noticed that the hummingbirds were enjoying the thistles, too. The extra shows a bee coming in as the hummingbird was leaving. 

I am grateful that I didn't get discouraged and decided to explore the possibilities.
