An archaeological feast

Be warned the next four days will feature various piles of stones - our (my?) main reason for visiting Menorca.
Leaving at 1 am did not feel great, arriving at Menorca at 7 am felt better, eventually getting our (up-graded) hire car by 9 am seemed to be getting somewhere. Within half an hour we were at this site, Trepuco. The image featrues two of the classic Menorcas sites. 
The tower in the background, called a Talaiot, are everywhere but are a feature shared with Corsice, Sardinia and Mallorca.
In the foreground however is a Taula in its enclosure, a structure unique to Menorca. There are only about ten known  examples in the world still standing and this is one of the biggest.
We then drove to the north coast and same some pretty (crowded) beaches. A decent tapas lunch in a very uncommercial El Mercadell prepared us for another taula and associated remains at Poblet Talaita de Torralba d'en Salort. Empty when we arrived, three tourist buses in the car park when we left.
This site was only a couple of miles from our hotel in Cala en Porter. A bizarre castle folly style building that provided us with a very decent evening meal after a wander around the gentle tourist village.
