Trains again

Took advantage of the last day of the free heritage trains on the branch line to take a trip to Windermere,  interested to see inside the old carriages. They were a disappointment-(extra); even if more comfy than the modern ones and everyone gets a table.  Had the choice of 10 minutes for the return trip or two hours, opted for the latter and set off to explore Windermere.  It was very hot, too hot for walking and too sunny for photos. The cafe at the flagship store of Lakeland Plastics and the opportunity to buy some house knickknacks beckoned because the shop is next to the station and I could watch from the cafe for the old train to come  back in.
Lakeland sells so many things you never knew you needed. Largely resisted the temptation but left the shop £100 lighter. The free train trip turned out quite expensive. The photo is taken from inside the carriage at Staveley where I got on; our closest station. I must say the view beats that at Tonbridge Station.
