Carnival Squash

I bought this squash a few weeks ago and still haven't cooked it. The patterned colorful skin and the shape of it are so pleasing the thought of roasting it goes out of my mind as soon as I pick it up.

Took a walk this afternoon through the neighborhood, decided not to take my camera and just focus on my surroundings not via a camera lens. The leaves are coming down fast and the walk was an obstacle course, piles of leaves in some places, ankle deep blankets in others. My route takes me past several homes that have friendly cats, they rush out to the sidewalk to say hello and then accompany me to the end of their block to see me safely off to the next cat further up the street.
