Eagle Eyed

After a very lazy morning we drove down to the coast road where we parked up and then walked along the undercliff walk to Ovingdean.  It was over 30 degrees and as it's an uphill slog on the way home, I knew I wouldn't feel like walking the final stretch.  It was a good decision!

It was even hotter than yesterday down on the undercliff as the chalk cliffs completely shelter it down there.  The beach was busy and lots of people were in the sea, but not many people were walking!  When we got to Ovingdean, we climbed the steps up to the top of the cliffs and went to the Blind Veterans centre who were holding an event for the Armed Forces day.  The centre provides rehabilitation for visually impaired veterans and there are 85 bedrooms so they come on holiday, or for respite and nursing care.

There were various activities including archery, dog shows and a band plus a few army vehicles and there was an owl sanctuary there with various different owls.  I'm not sure what this one is, but it was quite big.  After we'd had a look round, we walked back down to the undercliff and walked the couple of miles back to the car -  I was very glad we didn't have to walk the final mile uphill!

We got home about 4pm, Alan watched the F1, I went in the hot tub but it was too windy so I didn't stay in for long, cooked lamb for dinner and started to edit my photos from Rhodes as I've not had chance to get round to that.  I'd taken about 1,500 photos and have managed to get them down to about 900!  Needless to say, I've not had chance to look at your blips and I'm only just posting this after 11pm, there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day so apologies once again, I will catch up soon!

The funniest thing that happened today was when one of our neighbours’ hair extensions flew into our garden! Bobbie saw it and started barking at it and was ready to ‘kill’ it lol! We didn’t know what to do with it, and neither of us wanted to walk round and knock on her door, so we waited until we heard her go out and then Alan threw it back over the fence - I have to say, it was rather tatty!
