Ailsa Craig

We did the south Arran loop by bike today. My first time on a bike over the String Road which turned out to be a lovely climb. Given we were staying in Brodick, the climb started within about a mile and a half of the hotel which was brutal!

The weather was tremendous, almost no wind at all. We had planned to take the Ross Road back over, but detoured to the Velo Cafe at Lagg and thought we could carry on and catch a joining road. Fail! But it meant a ride into Lamlash where we sat by the shore for ages and I had a lovely swim in the warm waters beside the Holy Isle.
