Scarecrow village

Quick trip to Stamford today before going off to Rutland Water.  The plan was to go to the beach, until we saw the traffic queuing to get in. So we went to another car-park and walked down to the water's edge, but not to the beach. It was busy enough where we were, I'd image the beach was absolutely packed.  

It wasn't quite the afternoon we had wanted, but we still had a lovely time. The eldest wasn't very impressed at having been promised a beach (which he loves) and getting the rocky edge of Rutland Water.  We'll have to go back during the week when it will be quieter.

We went through a village on the way home where they were having village open gardens and a scarecrow competition (which were all very good).  I liked Elvis the best, so he got the picture for today.
