1,900ft
We took ourselves off today to Bay of Ieranto which is about 15k from Sorrento The walk down to the beach starts at a very cute village called Nerano. Once at the bottom of the mountain you are greeted with beautiful blue waters. Blip is one of the many butterflies. The walk is only three miles (round trip) but they are tough as it is 1,900ft to get down and that to get back up!! One girl we passed (us going back up and her coming down) was in boots with heals!!!
once back to the village we had a lovely homemade lemon sorbet and got chatting to the lovely shop owner. He drizzled lemon liquor on the sorbet....wow, delicious and very refreshing after a very hot walk.
When we went to the car we found that we had been blocked in!! thankfully the owner of the car had left a note on her windscreen which translated (thanks google translate!) to 'knock on the gate'. Thankfully there was only one gate! We managed to alert her and she came to move her car. Nice lady, very friendly.
We are now back at our Roof in Sorrento and about to head out for a little afternoon exploring before getting ready for dinner tonight.
We bumped into the owner of the apartment we are renting and she said that this weekend is particularly bad for people as its the first weekend of what they consider to be summer. The town last night was absolutely packed and to walk anywhere you had to shuffle due to the volume of people. Sorrento is packed full of people!!
Great day, I do love a walk (still got to get our walking practice in!) and getting out and seeing unique places.
