Colin
An afternoon on board the Holly Jo with skipper Colin Barnes, whale watching off the West Cork coast. He's in his 70s now and been on the sea most of his life, whale watching for 18 years. He spent a fair bit of the trip hopping out of the wheelhouse and letting the boat do it's own thing as he scanned the horizon for our quarry. We managed no humpbacks, but saw several minkes, seals, puffins, gulls, gannets and guillemots, Amanda's cow-up-a-tree (but from the water) and of course pods of wonderful dolphins, which were as good as the humpbacks for me.
Four hours out at sea, it took a little while to settle after landing!
