Birthday celebrations
Traditionally we had gathered with family for Henry's birthday. We had invited everyone to come to Cromer Scout hut, as there is a nice outside area, plus a kitchen to make tea etc. We thought we might put up our tent and camp over. But with the numbers who were free reducing daily, we decided just to stay at home. Luckily for us, the whole of the Wood family were able to join us in the end, plus Josh, and we have had a really nice (but very hot) get together in our garden. Henry expertly cooked mountains of chicken and sausages on the barbeque, and we all had our fill. Some of us took a wander to the allotment and the time flew. It was really nice having everyone join us, and we all had a lovely day. We missed the rest of the family, but we did have contact with the others who were sad they had missed it. We hope that everyone is now on the mend. Unfortunately, unless we travel to Cambridge, it seems impossible to have a full family gathering. Hopefully that will happen at Christmas.
Jenny and the rest headed off on their long drive home at a bit after 6. After Jon had done a big pile of washing up, we drove in to Cromer, bought a paper and had a relaxing walk.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. Cement making all day for the boys. For once I'm glad I have ironing to do! Now a film, and bbq leftovers!
(p.s. mum, I've done the watering)
