Saltwick Bay
Decided on an early visit to the coast so we were at Whitby Abbey for 9:30am. Although we have walked the coastal path neither of us had explored Saltwick Bay. Mines were cut into the rock to extract Alum. In the process some large fossils were found. This morning as the tide receded we were joined by a number of fossil hunters with hammers at the ready.
This is the Nab which resembles a beached submarine and I liked the reflection in this pool.
By 11:30 we were retreating home to discover Thomas and his girlfriend had decided to visit Clayton Bay for some surfing.
