Flowery Cheerfulness
How about this for a joyful summer image? It certainly passed muster with my blip editor who castigated me recently over my inclination to chose a gloomy blip.
It helps when you waken and find the haar is absent and the sun looks set to appear. In fact so tempting was it that I got on my bicycle before 6am and pedalled my way forth into the morning. It was not a very long cycle run but it took in a swathe of our locality when no-one else seemed to be about and it was possible to jinx about on the road to avoid potholes and drain covers, both of which seem to congregate in cycle lanes.
Later there was a bit of socialising over coffee, firstly with daughter#2 and later with an extended family member and his new wife both over from Oman for Robynn’s graduation .
No day in the sun and heat ,19°, as long as you kept out of the cool easterly breeze , would be complete without a dander to the play park where the ice cream van is stationed and sit on a bench like two pensioners from an old fashioned holiday post card licking their 99 ers, the cones with the chocolate flake.
We could get used to the good weather if we got half a chance.
The extra is of our visitors, Adam and Stella
