Elephant Hawkmoth

This beautifully coloured specimen seemed to have spent most of last night on the bathroom floor. Looking closeup reveals not only the lovely colours but also damage to the head and wings.

It moved very feebly when I picked it up on a sheet of paper this  morning.

I tried photostacking, but it didn't work. Once I'd photographed it, Len took it outside to find a corner in the flowers.

Coffee morning, where Steve, John, Len and I discussed the transfer list for Leicester City. This afternoon, I hope to brave the sun to go to two Open Gardens. Need some stamina for that.

Then my turn to treat Len to a birthday dinner at Livio's in the village. Charity event on tonight. We've enrolled.
