At lunchtime I took another visit to the site of the Blewits at County Hall, to check on the Amanita Muscarias from last week. All that's left now is one small ball-shaped baby and this mature one laying prostrate - felled perhaps by local children or a playful dog running past? I thought it would make a good blip though, as the view shows clearly the gill structure, the ring halfway up the stem and and the vulva at the base.
