Interesting colour!

We are growing a Heritage variety of Broad beans at work which have beautiful deep pink maroon flowers. 
This plant fascinates me though, as the flowers are not pink but an unusual dark grey / brown I wonder why and if they are still as attractive to the bees.
I know it is an awful 'busy' shot, but I did feel it was worth recording.
