High Jencks

Another fabulous day’s weather so we decided to head off to Jupiter Artland as it’s the last week before the school holidays, and then everything will be overrun by noisome brats. And what a great place it is. And one thing I didn’t expect to like was Phyllida Barlow’s new piece, Quarry. But blimey, I thought it was quite wonderful. Monumental and impressive. Like something impenetrable left by an extinct civilisation. Yes, indeed. After that, I really needed a piece of that rhubarb and elderflower cake in their ever so delightful cafe.
Later out to see ‘The Image You Missed’ at EIFF - a cracking wee film about the Donal Foreman’s estranged father, the documentary film maker of the NI troubles. Arthur MacCaig. I otta have stayed for the Q&A but DC was showing the Engerland v Belgium game on his 12 foot monster screen in his attic. Whoops!
