Disgruntled Kingfisher

I have no idea why it was shouting at me - I wasn't that close. 

I went to the estuary a little later  this afternoon and with the tide about halfway  out, it was very beautiful. The water was like glass and the birds were like painted toys. There were seven pairs of Shoveller Ducks - more than I have seen there before. The kingfishers were also out in full force. I saw 2 on poles, 1 on the back of a seat and 4 on stones beside the track, with one of the four being my grouchy blip.

The two extras are for Blipper DonnaWanna. When I asked for suggestions for a 'fat feeder' for the waxeyes, she had the brilliant idea of crotcheting a bag for the fat from fishing line. This is the result - before I hung it in the tree and after when the birds had just discovered it. Thanks very much Donna, problem solved.
