Moonrise

After spending much of the last two days trying to keep cool (and watching the World Cup on TV) I went out for a walk along the Canal tonight just after 9.30pm. Took a few photos in the fading light, but nothing spectacular. Even the sunset was fairly so-so.

However, when I returned to my house just before 11pm, I spotted the moon beginning to rise to the south and bearing an orange glow from the setting sun.

A quick turnaround and brisk walk to the farm track that leads down towards the Canal. From there I got a fairly uninterrupted view of the rising moon over what I think is Longriggend.
