Suncats

Our cats, much like the other cats, change their routine quite dramatically when it's hot. Normally they sleep all day inside, maybe going out for a wander, but these past few hot days they've been outside all day, just mulling, and hardly eating. They do love the sun...

I forget to record in my journal yesterday that while I was working, I heard birds tweeting away like a cat was snooping around and when I looked out the window I just saw birds jumping out of Betty, our fir tree, it was like one of those cartoon dust balls when there's a fight! And then down the trunk comes a stoat, runs away, then goes back up again. Although we see stoats in the area, I'd not seen one in our garden. I later saw an empty bird's egg near the tree, although my skills are not good enough to identify it... but the nest was fairly large... I did see a magpie come out of the tree and there are loads of doves... that's my best guess. Actually it could have been a weasel...
