Purple Hairstreak

Yessssssss!  Another trip to Trench Wood and I finally found a purple hairstreak.  In fact once I got my eye in I saw lots of them fluttering around the oak trees but whenever one descended to the ground it seemed to vanish.  Then along came this one.  I saw it drop down from the oak and land on this leaf in full view so I took some quick pictures with the 300mm. Amazingly it was still there so I crept closer and took some more.  As it still remained I went the whole hog and put on the macro lens, quietly moved right up to it and it let me take its portrait before it was disturbed by a bee and fluttered off.
