Balconies on one of the more modern, rather than modernista, buildings in Sant Feliu de Guixols, spotted during a blipmeet with Veronica while we were showing her and S some of the town. It was lovely to see them again, to wander around the streets taking photos of buildings, to walk along the beach in hot sunshine and to eat the menu del dia at our new-found favourite restaurant here, where I blipped the pumpkin and tiles a couple of days ago. Yesterday when we were walking back to the hotel the owner of L'Infern (yes, the restaurant is called Hell) stopped us in the street to tell us that he would be making arroz negro (black rice cooked with squid ink) today, so we knew we would have a good meal there, while we talked about everything from Andalucia, to jazz festivals, the birds in an exhibition of photos in a cafe on the sea front, paella and wine. And my pastel santiago (almond cake) served with a glass of the local herb-flavoured liqueur Ratafia made a great end to the meal while the others enjoyed cheesecake with bitter orange. Thank you Veronica and S for a very enjoyable few hours!
