The tortoise trainer.

I saw the original painting in the Pera museum, Istanbul a couple of weeks ago. In Ottoman times tortoises were trained to walk in line to a drum beat. They then had a candle attached to their back and would parade through the tulip gardens of the Sultan's palace to entertain visitors and light up the garden.
This is a collage recreation of the painting done by the 5 year olds in my class. (nothing to do with me however! This is beyond my talents!)
