Mad Eira

Up reasonably early today for a trip around the west of the island, lots of lovely places to visit. Had a walk through a banana plantation and learnt quite a bit about bananas that I never knew before ;-) stopped for lunch at Porto Moniz, known for its lava rock swimming pools which were busy with locals and tourists alike.
Being curious I ventured down some steps that were at the side of the pavement, they led down to a lava cave, looking out at some of the natural pools. My Blip was taken looking up through one of the holes in the roof, I didn’t realise it was a heart until I looked back through my pictures

We’ve also learned that we have been pronouncing Madeira wrong- rather than “mad ear a” it should be “mad eye ra”
