Rydal Water

Before breakfast I visited Rydal Water, which was mirror-like in its stillness first thing.

It was the most comfortable period of the day.  We walked around Grasmere later in the morning, but by then the temperatures had climbed to about 30 dec C.  It made even the flat walking uncomfortable.

It's our 31st Wedding Anniversary today, so we visited a local hotel for a celebratory dinner al fresco.  We then retired to the terrace of our cottage to while away the rest of the evening.
