The River Boat 'Georgina.'

Getting ready for a cream tea cruise. The boat 'Georgina' has been refurbished but in the past I have been on many trips.Opposite is the Jesus Green Lido. At 100 yards long it is one of Europe's largest outdoor swimming pools which opened in 1923. The Lido was a favourite place as there were no indoor pools in Cambridge then. No mixed swimming either, Males and females were separated. One end for each. Both ends were 3ft and the middle, deep with diving boards. I remember, the boys always got the sun and we shivered under the trees! If you went swimming as a family, it was Sheep's Green paddling pool and the river for the grown ups.
