Hot in The "City!"

Trip to Tavistock as the dress shop had called to say come pick up some of my dresses. I guess she decided some just were not right. I'm hoping no moth holes had been found - they've been fluttering round my house again and I'd put moth deterrents in every room - but maybe too late? Well it turns out it was a mistake - an assistant had decided in her absence that some were not wanted, when infact the owner was keeping them as she was low in size 8'S! She was most apologetic but I was delighted!
I ran a few errands - pay a birthday cheque in at the bank in my photo, popped onto Boots, the  Co-Op and the pet shop. There was an aged Labrador in the pet shop who I thought was incredibly well behaved given the pigs noses, ears and bones within easy reach! Turns out it was the owners dog! Final stop at the recycling centre on the way home and I was done for the day! Time to sit in the shade and read!
I'm currently reading The Book Of Silence by Sara Maitland which I started a while ago. Quite a heavy read as she is quite the philosopher! I'm coming across lots of words I have to look up! But given my year of virtual solitude and silence it's resonating with me. The idea of being somewhere remote has always appealed. It is particularly appealing at the moment for as  soon as the house  below me was finished being refurbished last week than my neighbours are having the front of their house redone and there is also scaffolding noises coming from further up the terrace! The last 7 years has seen the houses in my terrace being sold and done up plus a new house being built at the end of the terrace - I'm well and truly fed up with building noise! Plus the blaring of radios! I shall get my own back when my house is repainted at some point this year!
I've added the extra as it just appealed to me - Tavistock has it's run down areas - this is up from the Jigsaw shop!
