Durham Castles Gatehouse

Blipped after midnight yesterday so if you missed it take a look....The Black Gate In Newcastle which links to todays blip as this is the Gatehouse at Durhams Castle.

This is as said above the Gatehouse to Durham Castle. This Gatehouse dates back to the Norman times, It had a dry moat around it until the 17th century when it was no longer need and filled in. The Gatehouse archway was altered and made larger in the 18th Century to give the Bishops carriage more room to pass through. The Gatehouse itself is not known to be haunted but the castle is..... I'll be uploaded something on that soon so keep an eye open.lol

Today I have used Infra-Red instead of black and white..... Talk about diversity.lol
