Cooling Off

We got an early start doing some work in the camper to get ready for our next trip but by 10 a.m. it was already getting hot, so we decided to quit and go for a walk instead.  It was good to get a little exercise before the temperature got much higher and Piper had a nice swim in the river. When we got home she had her dreaded bath with the hose on the front lawn.  She doesn't hate that as much as going to the doggie self wash where she gets into a tub.  Once she dried, we brushed lots of loose fur off of her, about two kitchen trash bags full.  She doesn't like being brushed either.  It will take two or three more brushings to get all of it.  Actually, we never manage to get all of it....but at least most of it.  She looks and smells great already, though. :-)

I am grateful that, even though she hates it, Piper is pretty well behaved when she is being groomed (once she realizes that there's no escape).
