Day 5.

Where we are staying the local landscape is dominated by Schiehallion, a Munroe of 1083 metres and today was the day we decided to see what the view was like from the top.

We set out from the car park and began a gentle climb on a very well maintained path and nestling amongst the heather were these lovely wild Viola.

The path started to climb and before long we were climbing quite steeply. We had read in a guide book that the author took his 5 year old daughter for a walk to the summit, well that child is obviously super human, we spent a long time scrambling over boulders and scree getting to the top.

What a view we had at the top, it felt like being on top of everything, then came the return journey, needless to say we ache!

On the way back to the lodge we stopped on the shore of the loch to capture the fading light and the complete stillness, it has been a fantastic day (now the painful bit is in the past)
