Sue said she would drive us to Horwich today and in a rash moment I decided I would ride my bike to her house instead of driving. I’d forgotten how many flippin’ hills there were. It took me a while to cool off, but a quick change and we were on our way with my red face fading nicely.

Oh Lordy, it was so hot today. It was unbearable to start with but thankfully some coolers arrived. They helped a bit, but it was still too hot. In the evening we received a call from head nurse in NW that we could only take O and B negs as they are critical groups and new donors as the heat was affecting the blood and we needed to get it back to the labs. Thankfully most people understood and are going to rebook. It is always hard to turn people away.

I pedalled home from Sue’s along the guided bus route as I thought it would be flat....well I thought wrongly!!! Sigh. Oh boy, it was wonderful to get in the shower tonight!

There was something on FB about a fire on heathland round Rivington area yesterday and it must still be burning as it was hazy in Horwich and you could smell smoke. In fact I can smell it here too as the breeze must be blowing this way.

....as for this pic..... well when a man walks in with a cardboard cut out of a car you just have to pose with it, don’t you lol
