Pilgrims’ Mass

Having reached Santiago de Compostela yesterday, we headed to the Cathedral today to complete our pilgrimage by attending the Pilgrims’ Mass. The service began with a Nun warming up our singing... her voice was amazing, angelic! At the end of the service the HUGE incense “thurible” was swung high across the pilgrims and was quite something to see! After the service we headed to behind the alter to complete the pilgrimage by “hugging” St James! My Catholic Deacon friends were delighted to watch a Baptist do this!!! Now all that awaits is the return home... I look forward to next time!
