Handmade

Emptying an old chest of drawers I found a family christening gown. I'm not sure but I think it was made for my dad by his mother DHM. If it was, because dad was a twin, there would have been an identical one for my auntie. It is definitely handmade and almost certainly by DHM but it's just possible it was made for me. I think it is older though. One thing is certain and that is that it hasn't been in use since 1980. Somewhere, but not in the same chest of drawers so goodness knows where, there is a baby-sized silk shawl for putting on over the goonie.  Some work went into this beautiful garment.

Edit - I found the shawl. I knew it would be somewhere. I'll maybe blip it another day
