Hand Lettering

Nobody does it anymore, really. Hand lettering??? Why bother??? We have computers now!

And yet, she bothers, my colleague Elizabeth. She teacher her students (their very first design studio) the patience and discipline of making all the letters just right. There is something about it, completing row after row of letters, practicing to later note their sketches. Computers are all right, but some elements of the craft MUST remain, or we loose the link to art of it all.

Every designer needs to know how to draw.
Every designer needs to know how to hand-letter.
Every designer needs to know how to eloquently speak about their project.
