The Committee

At the end of a great day in Bellfield. Lots of different things going on from early afternoon until late into the evening. The afternoon was a pop-in family event - hundreds of people in the two halls and the garden. And then in the evening it was a ticketed event in the hall, with the final performances in the old church. The Community choir did a couple of songs so I photographed the first and then sang with them for the second. An organist played some pieces for us and then the evening was rounded off with the Edinburgh Russian Choir. It was going to be the Community Choir but apparently some people didn't want to be up too late and so the running order was swapped. And then the committee who had made it all happen got up on stage to take some very well deserved applause. A great community event, with a range of things from far and wide - local musicians, comedians and actors, young and old, but also things from further afield like the Russian choir, a band singing in Spanish and some traditional Indian dance (some of it being done to modern Celtic tunes).
