Martin Parr

Hebden Bridge Arts Festival - Hope Baptist Church, Hebden Bridge.
Martin Parr - nonconformist photographer - lived in Hebden Bridge and took a studio in Albert Street in 1975. He joined the local camera club and over the next five years went on to take some era defining pictures of the Calder Valley. In 1994 he became a member of the Magnum Photographic Cooperative and became one of the foremost chroniclers of our age.
Tonight he gave an illustrated talk about his life as a photographer.
