Sun down
Five years ago, when the Minx and I were first seeing one another, we got up at something like four in the morning to watch the sun rise on the longest day of the year. It was overcast, though, and impossible to tell when the sun came up; we just stood outside the cottage, drinking coffee, watching the clouds brighten.
Over the years, we have had a bit more success with sun down and, this evening, it was just the two of us. Earlier on, we did have dinner with Hannah - she has a client in Chorley - but once we'd seen her to the station, we drove out to Southport and onto the sand to watch the sun go down together. It was beautiful.
