The Stack, Dundee

The only photo I took all day, so it's this or yet another garden shot!  The lovely brick chimney on the left is Cox's Stack, better known simply as The Stack and is visible for miles around Dundee.  It's 85 metres high and was constructed in 1866 and formed part of one of the  thriving jute mills for which the city is famous.Although designed by a Scotsman, it was based on the Italian bell tower or campanile.  It must have looked pretty exotic to the jute workers when it was built!

Our viewers arrived this afternoon for their third visit and sounded quite positive, but are keeping their cards close to their chests and have not yet revealed what they have decided.  So it's a waiting game!  

We decided to go out for a drive as it was such a glorious day and ended up in Dundee after stopping off at the Pine Cone Café for refreshments.  I wanted TJ to have a break from the garden, as he had spent over three hours this morning using his vacuum sucker to remove all the dead leaves from the trees kindly deposited on our lawn by Storm Hector just before we left for our holiday.  Thanks Hector!!
