Garden Shadows

While out to capture a photo, I had a sublime [to me] experience.
I heard the call of two sandhill cranes.  They were very close so
I "stalked" them.  They were feeding on a football field nearby.
I was amazed at how close I was able to creep.  They were feeding
on incects, but then to my amazement they went into their mating
dance.  I could not believe what I was seeing; but there they were,
putting on a performance for each other with me as an "amazed"
spectator.  They allowed me to get within thirty feet of them; there
i sat in the wet grass not believing what I was seeing.  It was a
sublime time with God, or so I felt!

Wouldn't you k now, my camera would not work so you will have to
just take my word for it!!!!

The steel-gray, red-capped Sandhill Crane is the most abundant of the world's cranes. Widely distributed throughout North America, this stately bird is one of only two North American endemic crane species. The other is the larger, much rarer Whooping Crane.
