Strawberries and cream , red and ripe :)
This was the cry from the Strawberry stall that the girls were shouting to attract some customers at the Grand opening of the Multi Sport Courts in Rosemarkie. They were brilliant and in an hour most of the strawberries had been eaten, a few by the Brownies who had never seen such big strawberries before. We just collected a donation and raised over £50 that was split between us and the Rosemarkie Amenities. We were not expecting that at all , we just wanted to help and to be there for the big occasion but it means we can buy some basket balls and tennis balls for future use on the courts.
It was a sunny day and the opening started with a piper and then the cutting of the ribbon by two residents who have devoted many hours to cleaning, preparing and weeding the Beach cafe/ old tennis court area. Lovely smiling faces all round. Fortrose tennis club then played and went on to give some coaching. Some of the girls had a game later.
Lots of visitors were commenting on the wonderful Community Spirit and came over for a chat.
It was nice to catch up with Catherine and Gwyneth too, we do not have much chance of a natter during a ‘normal’ Brownie session.
Mike picked me up and we went down to the Point to see the Buddhists who had gathered at Chanonry Point for 24 hours of Meditation and raising money for the Scottish homeless charity Social bite and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation. A little tent was set up surrounded by Buddhist flags with several people inside meditating .What a great spot to reflect and spend time what ever your beliefs maybe.
Back home to watch some more nail biting football and then we watched the original Jumanji film , very enjoyable.
The blip photo was taken by one of the organisers.
